The price is shown on the page before you pay, in pounds sterling, and that figure is the total amount charged — nothing is added at checkout. BTLTECH LTD is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to it. The price comes from this server, so what you are shown is what PayPal collects; a payment for any other amount buys nothing.
What a clean copy covers
One document. When you open a file in the text editor your browser works out a fingerprint of it, and that fingerprint is what the payment is recorded against — the file itself is never sent to us, which is the whole point of that editor.
- It follows the original file, not one particular set of edits. Open the same file again on the same browser next week, edit it differently, and saving a clean copy is still unlocked. You are not paying per save.
- It does not cover a different file. A clean copy you saved and then re-opened counts as a different file, because it is one.
- It does not expire.
How your purchase is remembered — read this before paying
There are no accounts here, which is deliberate: it means we hold no name, no email address and no password for you. The price of that is worth understanding before you spend anything.
When you pay, this server issues your browser an anonymous token and your browser keeps it in its own storage for this site. Your credits, and any document you have unlocked, belong to that token.
- Clearing this site's data loses it — including "clear cookies and site data" in your browser settings, and some privacy cleaners.
- It does not travel. Another browser, another device, or a private window will not have it.
- Whoever holds the token holds the credits. It works like a cinema ticket rather than an account: there is nothing to log in to, and no way for us to tell that a lost one was yours.
- Keep your PayPal receipt. It is the only record of the purchase that is yours rather than ours, and it carries the reference we would need to put something right.
Paying
Payment is taken by PayPal on PayPal's own pages. No card details reach this service, and there is no payment provider's code on any page of this site. We add your credits, or unlock your document, only after asking PayPal directly whether the money was actually taken — never on your browser's word for it, which is a thing any browser can say.
Your right to cancel, and why paying here gives it up
For most things bought online a consumer has 14 days to cancel. Digital content supplied immediately is treated differently: under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, that right is lost once supply begins, if you have asked for it to begin straight away and understood that you were giving the right up.
So, plainly: when you press the pay button you are asking us to supply the clean copy, or the credits, immediately. Once that has happened you will not have a 14-day right to change your mind. This is said next to the button as well as here, so that nobody meets it for the first time afterwards.
That is about the statutory cooling-off period only. It is not a "no refunds" rule, and it takes nothing away from the rest of this page or from your statutory rights below.
If something goes wrong
- A conversion that fails gives the credit back automatically. The credit is taken before the work starts so that two requests cannot spend the same one, and it is returned if the work does not finish. You should not need to ask.
- If a payment goes through but we fail to record it, you will be shown a reference beginning with the PayPal order id. Send it to [email protected] and it will be put right. For a clean copy, the file is handed over anyway — you have paid for it.
- If the tool cannot do what you paid for, say so and you get your money back. That is the case whatever else this page says.
Refunds
- If you paid for a clean copy and could not get one, or a conversion you spent a credit on did not work and the credit was not returned, you get a full refund. Ask within 30 days, quoting the reference on your PayPal receipt.
- Unused conversion credits can be refunded within 14 days of buying them. Credits already spent cannot, because the work has been done.
- Refunds go back through PayPal, to the account that paid.
- We cannot refund a purchase we cannot identify. If you have lost both the token and the receipt there is nothing left to match a claim against — which is the reason the receipt is worth keeping.
Your statutory rights
Nothing here affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which requires digital content sold to a consumer to be of satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose and as described, and gives you remedies if it is not. You do not lose those by agreeing to immediate supply, and this page does not try to exclude them.
The software itself is free software under the GNU AGPL, which comes with no warranty — that is the licence on the source code, and it is a separate thing from what BTLTECH LTD owes you when you have paid it money. The licence does not reduce the paragraph above.
